Our Story
Desert Mountain's story is quite unique.
It was formed in 1990 when the
two owners, Paul Bessey and Tom Linden met by accident. Paul
had blown the motor in one of his semi truck's and Tom happened to be looking for
a truck to put a spare motor into. The rest is history.
They teamed up and
initially started out as a liquid bulk
commodity trucking firm and achieved success in the transportation and
application of dust suppressants in the Rocky Mountain area for various
chemical companies. In 1994 Desert Mountain decided to service and
market our own products. Through testing, research and practical
application Desert Mountain found that liquid Magnesium Chloride
provides an environmentally acceptable solution to dust control problems
in commercial markets, while offering an economical solution for area
governments in the maintenance and stabilization of unpaved public
roads.
As Desert Mountain Corp. gained more experience we discovered a demand
for granular ice melt with high performance and low corrosive
properties. Desert Mountain Corp. now provides four high performance granular
deicers to state and local governments: Ice Slicer RS, Ice Slicer Elite,
Mineral Melt and Magnesium Chloride De-Icing Crystals in both bulk and
package. At the present time we service Arizona, Idaho, Montana, New
Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Southern California and Wyoming. We also have equipment and storage
in those locations as well. In the coming year we expect to move in
excess of fifty thousand tons of granular deicers and sixty thousand
tons of dust control products.
